How to setup a password-protect Membership site on my WordPress website?

answers

Instead of installing and setting up a membership site on your main website here’s what I would recommend.

  1. Setup ANOTHER install of WordPress on your hosting on yoursite.com/membersonly/ (the MembersOnly directory would be a new install of WordPress)
  2. Install both a membership plugin (see below) and buddypress on this new site.
  3. Use a buddypress theme (here’s some amazing ones!) this will save you the hassle of needing to setup your theme with buddypress templates.
  4. Configure and add content :) then you’re all set!

What is the best WordPress or Blogger?

answers

Short Answer: WordPress.org

Long Answer: If you’re looking to just have some fun and write for your friends and family Blogger is a great choice, you can be up and running in about 15 minutes, WordPress.com is also a great choice- little big more of a learning curve if you’ve never worked with it before.

Best Option if you’re looking to build a business out of your blog is WordPress.org.

LOTS more options, lot less limitations, 1000s of great plugins. I’d highly recommend it, I build all my sites with it.
